Data on Sexual Reproductive Health outcomes in Nigeria stresses the importance of focusing on adolescents. At 576 maternal death per 1,000 live births, Nigeria accounts for 14 percent of the global burden of maternal mortality (NDHS 2013/WHO 2014). Global evidence shows that young girls bear a higher burden of maternal mortality and morbidity. Data shows that the average age at sexual debut is roughly 15 years of age among adolescent mothers in Nigeria. (NDHS 2003, 2008, 2013). Conduct Inquiry, Sustain Support For Ibadan Explosion Victims, Enabulele Urges Govt

Dr. Osahon Enabulele, immediate past President of the World Medical Association  Dr. Osahon Enabulele, immediate past President of the World Medical Association (WMA), on Wednesday, urged the government to conduct an inquiry into the Ibadan explosion and sustain emergency care for the injured victims. During an online interaction with Independent Newspapers , Enabulele expressed sadness over the development and urged continued  support for victims with the provision of the needed materials and supplies. He said, “While I share the pains and feelings of families of injured victims.  Thorough investigations must be carried out to unearth the possible cause(s) of the unfortunate incidence amid reports attributing the incidents to explosives stored by miners.”   Enabulele also urged for the involvement of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the inquiry into the explosion in the Bodija area of Ibadan and the execution of the recommendations that occurred on Tuesday.    The immed
